Boarding

Boarding

    • Dog food should be brought in a plastic grocery bag or large Ziploc bag, AND YOU MUST INCLUDE A MEASURING CUP. Alternatively, you can put individual rations in separate Ziploc baggies for each meal or each day of their stay. Please, no plastic Tupperware containers or entire bags of dog food.

    • Be sure to include your dog's name on the bag, and include in the bag a piece of paper with your dog's name, food instructions, and, if any, medication instructions.

    • Only bring the rationed amount of food your dog should eat during their stay. If you want to bring one additional day’s worth, please mark it separately as “extra.”

    • You can also bring dog treats. And if you think your dog might need wet food to encourage them to eat better away from home, you can bring that too!

    Medications

    • Again, please be sure to bring only the rationed amount of medication your dog will need during their stay, along with written instructions. If you want to bring one additional day’s worth, please mark it separately as “extra.”

    • Also, include whatever your dog receives their medication in (peanut butter, cheese, pill pockets, etc., and bring this in a ziplock baggie. Again, no containers, please.

    • Your dog must have a collar on, preferably one that cannot slip over their head, like a properly fitted martingale collar. It is also recommended that your dog also have ID tags.

    • Please ensure your dog is up-to-date on vaccines, including Bordetella, flea and tick prevention, and heartworm prevention.

    What NOT to Bring
I provide everything your dog will or might need to be comfortable during their stay. Please do NOT bring any of the following:

    • Paper bags or reusable grocery bags

    • Food dishes

    • Water bowls

    • Toys

    • Blankets

    • Crates or dog beds

    Crating
If your dog needs to be in a crate when left alone or through the night, please let me know so I can prepare the appropriate-sized crate.

  • Hours
Standard hours for drop-off and pick-up are 9:00am - 9:00pm, but these times can vary. When available, earlier or later accommodations can be arranged in advance for an additional fee.

Because I run on a precise schedule, I kindly ask that you arrive on time for your scheduled drop-off and pick-up. If you arrive early or late, please understand I may not be able to help you until your scheduled time.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you will be early or late so I can adjust accordingly for other scheduled drop-offs and pick-ups.

    Upon arrival

    • When you arrive, text me you are here and wait for my reply that I am ready to receive or return your dog.

    • This not only ensures your safety, your dog's, and any/all dogs in the home, but it’s also helpful during inclement weather, so you're not waiting outside.

    Dropping-off

    • Please allow your dog the opportunity to go to the bathroom before entering the house.

    • Kindly walk them along the 'devil strip,' the grassy area between the street and the sidewalk, not in the front or side yard or in the flowers. Even if your dog just went to the bathroom before leaving your house, allow them a chance to go to the bathroom before coming into the house.

  • Payment
Payment is always due at pick-up. My business is cashless, and payments can be made via check or Venmo. Checks should be made out to: Second Chance Canine, LLC
