Every Board & Train begins with an in-home behavior consultation. During this session, I meet with you to review your dog’s history, assess their environment, understand their needs, and examine the behavior challenges you’re seeing. We'll also begin training right there in your home, so you have strategies you can start using immediately.

From there, we create a customized Board & Train plan tailored to your dog’s goals, including your dog’s stay at SCC. Depending on your dog’s individual needs, we determine:

• The length of the program
  Many dogs benefit from an average of 7–10 days

• How much time the overall program will take

• How many hours a day your dog will be training, based on the behaviors we decide to work on

This gives you a clear, personalized plan of action to deliver meaningful, lasting results.

Additionally, you can choose to book your Board & Train during your next vacation, allowing your dog to learn while you’re away!

I am a positive, force-free trainer and use only science-based, humane methods, meaning:

• No shock collars

• No prong or choke collars

• No fear-or pain-based training techniques

Unfortunately, many Board & Train programs use techniques that rely on discomfort or the suppression of behavior. But at Second Chance Canine, your dog learns through trust, clear communication, and reinforcement—never fear.

My business is cashless. Payments can be made via check or Venmo. Checks should be made out to: Second Chance Canine, LLC

Board & Train Rates

• $100 per day - typically 1–2 hours/day depending on your dog’s needs

• 50% deposit - due in advance, with the remaining balance due at pick-up

Dog owners and families prefer to Board & Train with SCC for many reasons, including:

• Daily hands-on training in a structured home environment

• Positive, humane, research-backed training only

• Photo and video updates throughout their stay, so you can see your dog’s progress

• Owner support and an optional transfer session to maintain results at home

• A smooth, thoughtful transition from my home back to yours
